Special Notice

As we are all aware the COVID-19 virus is affecting every aspect of our lives. It has interrupted our routines, suspended our work lives and minimized our social interactions. When viewed through a broader lens, the closing of theatres may seem like a minor inconvenience. Regardless, the Province of Ontario has mandated that we close at least until March 31st. Out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of our patrons, renters and volunteers paramount in our minds, the Academy Theatre had already independently decided to suspend operations. In concert with the Province we will reevaluate our situation at the end of March. We know that our patrons and our community have always been supportive, and we feel the same way. Together we will come out the other side of this stronger, better connected and even more committed to mutually supporting each other. In light of everything, the most important issue in front of us all is to stay safe and healthy.

We are working diligently to reschedule all postponed events that you were so looking forward to. We hope that you will choose to hold on to your tickets as they will be good for your rescheduled dates.

To keep both the public and our staff safe, we have temporarily closed the box office. You can leave a voicemail at 705-324-9111 or send an email to admin@academytheatre.ca. Due to the high volume there may be a delay in our response but we will work with you to address your questions or concerns over the coming weeks. When we are able to reopen, we will contact you with the information we have about your show, and will issue refunds should you decide that's in your best interest.

We wish you all the best in these exceedingly difficult times. We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate these new and troubled waters. Please visit our Facebook page for the most current information, including rescheduled dates and updates on our closure. We will reopen to provide our customary best service to you as soon as possible.
